Mr Reid states that immediately the Federal resolutions are dealt with by the Council he will communicate with the other colonies, and arrange a conference which will probably be held at the end of January or the b, ginning of February. Sydney, November 14. The Premier states than he intends to take advantage of tho concessions to coin silver locally. This will mean an initial cost to the colony of between L6OO and L7OO. The local mint authorities are of opinion that there are considerable difficulties in the way of the scheme, and it is not likely the concession will be availed of for a considerable time. The necessary additions to the machinery will a, large outlay, and the whole silver coining and the coinage of gold will have to be stopped, seriously interfering with the gold industry. Special regulations will be necessary to make the locally coined silver a tender outside the colony. Captain Featherstone has relinquished command of the Oonah, and accepted an important position in connection with the local coasting trade. Adelaide, November 14.

He denies that they were introduced secretly and eays that they were shown to the medical officer who inspected the ship. The Grafter's price was 2000 guineas.
