Two battalions ot his own regiment were now m France and one in Persia., and manv of his old comrades had already been killed. It is bv the King's wish,'- added the Governor, "that I am here in New /,?»- land but if vou asked me personally ■where I would rather be : I would reply that I wish I were with my regiment- Mr Profession was that of a soldier for just on 20 years., and my heart goes out to those who soldiered with me."—(Applause.V
