Mr W. F. Eennetto. who for the past 22 years has been in the service of the Bank of New Zealand at Wyndham, has been transferred to Dunedin. Mr W. R. Sinclair and Mr S. D. Smith left by the express last night on their way to Wellington to attend meetings of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association and the New Zealand Press Association.

At the annual meeting of the Kaikorai Cricket Club last night the president, Mr G. Ferguson, referred to the death of two members of the club, Mr V. Davis, who was killed in action overseas, and Mr L. Crawford, one of the”’original club members, who died recently. The Dunedin Returned Services' Association, at its meeting last night, carried a motion of sympathy with Major-general Sir Andrew Russell, immediate past president of the New Zealand Returned Services' Association. whose son. Lieutenant-colonel John Russell, had been* killed in action.

Passengers who arrived from the north by the airliner yesterday were Miss J. Lethbridge and Mrs N. P. Steele from Auckland, Captain E. G. Morris, Mr J. J. Wright, Leading Aircraftman C R.
