FEARS FOR SAFETY

YOUNG SHEPHERD MISSING (P.A.) WAIROA, Sept. 14. Concern is expressed for the safety of Peter Baker, aged 17, the only son of Mr and Mrs W. P. Baker, of Wairoa. The lad was employed on the Tukemokihi Station as a shepherd. He left on Saturday morning to inspect some sheep, and although his dogs returned Baker and his horse have not been seen since.

Parties were out searching yesterday and to-day, but up till a late hour no success was reported. This afternoon a search was made by plane.
