ARMY POTATO RATION

INCREASE ANNOUNCED (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 14. The daily ration of potatoes for men in the armed forces has been increased from 3oz to 6oz.

A message from Stockholm states that Gundar Haegg established a world record by running three miles in 13min 35 2-ssec. Since August 3 Haegg has broken the world record for the 1500 metres, mile, 2000 metres,, two miles, and three miles.
