Pbdigeee — . piONQFEBOfi is a bright bay, \J rising 7 years old ; stands 16 hands S inches high ; of immense muscular power, and splendid action. Conquebob was bred by Mrs Miller, West Taieri, out of the celebrated mare Duchess, and is by Em peror out of the celebrated mare Kate (imported by the late Mr Jas. Strachan. Sire, Emperor. Emperor has gained three first and three secondprizes. Emperor's sire, Napoleon, "imported by J. Nimmo. Napoleon, by George Buchanan's Emperor, is out of Nancy (imported) ; bred by Alexander Finlay, Esq., Sandyhills, near Glasgow. Nancy by the .celebrated Garnary Horse, and her dam by Scotsman. Nancy was first shown as a three-year-oW, and got •' first prize at Hamilton, first at Balliestan, second at Glasgow, and second at Balbride. She was next year shown as a brood mare at Glasgow and Kilbride, where she received similar honours. Conquebob took the first prize 'as a two-year-old at the Blueskin Bhow 1875, and second prize for All-Comers and Aged Hordes at the same Show, and at Oamaru the following year took second prize as a three-year-ol 1 in a field of nine competitors. At six years old he took first prize at Timaru, 1879, and special prize of 12 guineas as a colonial-bred horse, to stand in the district, that season.
