WESLEYAN DISTRICT MEETING.

TO THE EDITOR,

Sir, — As one statement in your report of the Wesleyan District Meeting is capable of a wrong uonstruction, I shall he glad if you will allow me to offer a word of explanation. " A new minister to be appointed to Patea " might he taken to mean that the present minister at Patea, the Rev. J. A. Luxford, is to be removed, and another sent to take his place. Such, however, is not the case ; there is no wish whatever, either on the part of minister or people, for such a change. What the District Meeting really did was to recommend to the Conference the appointment of an additional minister to the Patea Circuit, who shall reside at Hawera. By inserting this you will oblige, — Yours, &c, Wji. Jas. Williams.
