PORT DARWIN, September 20
The Tsinan brings details of the burning of t!he German steamer Wik, while on the voyage from Yokohama to Kobe. The vessel ran into a typhoon. Then a fire broke out below, and the men Mere driven into the engine room.
The vessel came to a standstill, helpless, and drifted asllore and was "Wrecked.

The Tsinan brings news that cholera is raging in many parts of Japan; also that there have been great storms and floods. 1700 being drowned at Fukuchiyuma.
Many people were buried under-, the landslides.
Yokohama experienced the greatest floods for 40 years.
