Thero "was a large attendance of visitors, "who took a keen intense in the games, particulars of which have already been published. At tlio conclusion of the day's play, the President (Mr. J. McEldowney) addressed the assemblage. Ho announced iht> result of the games, and on behalf of the Marton Club congratulated tho Palir.erslon bowlers on tho result. tie stated the Marton Club could have picked and filtered a. strong team, which, probably, wouild have run Palmerston close, but in the interests of the merubors <.f the local club they decided tec give them all a .chance to play in the ionniamenta He thanked the visitors for their presence, and expressed a hop© 1o inrefthem again on the Marton xreep. Three hearty cheers wore given . fm\ the visitors. Mr. J. A. Nash returned thinks on behalf of the visitors generally, and Palmerston in particular/ for t'jm hospitable treatment they had experienced at the hands o? the Marton Club, mid caled for three cheers for the members, and 0110 for the President. .Afternoon' tea was dispensed under the supervision of Mesdameis Sharpe, Mogridge, Misses Gronn, Niool, Sntcliffe, and MoEldowney. The hon. secretary,- Mr. A. 11. Sutcliffe, is to be commenced1 for his arrangements in connection with the tou'r\nament, everything 'working smoothly from start to finish. The second day (Friday) was beautifully fine, and the programme consisted of doubles and singles, five rinks being occupied. There was again a good attendance in the afternoon.
