NEW YORK, January 5
President Roosevelt's special message to the Congress declared that the proposed relief was prompted by obligation of humanity, taking into consideration th& fact.that many good American citizens were formerly Italian immigrants. Besides half a million dollars both Houses voted anothor 300,000, representing the steamers Celtic and Culgoa's supplies.
