POWERS OF INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES ACT INVOKED.

SYDNEY, December 3
In tho Industrial Court to-day, the President. Justice Heydon, read a lctt,er from Premier "Wade officially informing him that e.lC' -efforts to affect a settlement in the coal troubles by a conference or to secure the appointment of aßoard under the Industrial Disputes Act had proved futile. Premier Wade conveyed this L his official information, i:i order that Judge Heydon might consider the desirability of taking any further action he thought necessary in the public interest under the powers conferred on him by the Industrial Disputes Act. Judge Heydon announced that a Newcastle Colliers Board would bo appointed to deal with tho matter of the dispute. He adjournerl the matter till Saturday morning for the appointment of the Board.
