Tha " Lav.- Journal," analysing the voting of sixteen peers having judicial experience declares that the weight of legal opinion in the House oPLords is against the view that the peers violated the Constitution. Sir Gilbert Parker, speaking at Hackney, after relating how the legislative 1 of Queen Victoria dealt the tacking in 1 1860 and 1877, said Earl Crewe and Mr Uro would do well to leave the 1 oversea dominions out of their appeals
for partisan sympathy
