MR MASSEY'S WARNING
YUiilst the motion in regard to tomorrow- morning's sitting of"the House \vas under discussion this afternoon, Mr WiMord suggested that they should continue to-night's sitting until say half-past sev:en to-morrow morning, then adjourn for an hour for breakfast, and continue the sitting during the forenoon. Tbis at once drew Mr Alassey to his feet with a. vigorous protest against legislation by "exhaustion ir. such an extreme form. "If any attempt is made" lie said, "to go in. for nil-night sittings I will do my duty by stopping the business of the "House being carried o-n in such a manner."
Sir Joseph Ward said that "he objected to being told by th 6 Leader of the Opposition that he would not allow certain things to 1>? done when he (the Prime Minister) had never attempted or thought of attempting to do such things. -These threatening observations from the Opposition Leader were, he r:aid, quite uncalled for.
