THE POOLING QUESTION

WELLINGTON, December 0. In '.'oiinection with the Wellington Cricket Association's refusal to join in with those Associations who had guaranteed for matches with the Australian team, a resolution of the special; meeting of the Cricket Council was conoid ered by the committee, and, alter discussion, it was unanimously resolved that the lion, secretary should write and ascertain I'romj the various associations who have consented to provide guarantees for the matches with an Australian team whether or not they would be prepared to give the guarantees offered by them if the pooling system is abandoned—that is to say, that each association t:> whom a match is granted must pay its guarantee for that match and the expenses of the match, appropriating,' to its own use the whole profits of the match. The associations concerned are asked to forward a definite reply by December.
