KAI IWI SCHOOL PICNIC.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
The school picnic which was held in the Kai Iwi school grounds on Friday last was one of the most successful that lias ever been held in the district. Beautiful weather prevailed and there was a large attendance, the children and parents alike having a delightful time. Very great praise is due to the ladies for the dainties, provided, also to the committee wlio did so much towards making a success of the picnic, and to these who so generously contributed to the picnic funds. Racing was the feature oF the day, the competition amongst the little folk being very keen. Later in the day came the Xmas tree, from- which was handed beautiful toys of all descriptions, by the children's old friend Santa Clans. After this tea was served and the gathering , dispersed, after a thoroughly enjoyable day.
