PERSONAL.

Mr T. C. Webb has just returned to Wanganui after holding an examination in music for the London College of Music at New Plymouth.

At a meeting of the Dunedin Presbytery on Tuesday, it was decided unanimously to sustain the call made by the Port Chalmers congregation to the Rev A. Whyte, of Havelock North.

Miss Annie Rochefort has been appointed Sister in charge of the Consumptive Sanatorium at Cashmere Hills, near Christchurch.

Mr A. R. Blandford has resigned his position on the local staff of the Union Bank and leaves for Dunedin this week. We understand Mr Blandford intends entering the theatrical profession. A London cable says that the estate of Arthur Wilson, a Hull shipowner, has been sworn at £667,342; the estate of Consuelo, Duchess of Manchester, at £324,860; and B. L. Cohen’s, at £385,146, yielding, with other death duties, in one day £350,000.
