WANGANUI RIFLE ASSOCIATION.

NINTH ANNUAL MEETING

ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY

The ninth annual meeting of the> above association will take place on the local rifle range, Putiki, on Monday arid Tuesday next, 27th and 28th inst; The lion.. secretary reports a 'record entry for the association, and given fine weather the meeting will, no doubt, prove a very enjoyable outing.: Visitors and residents of Wanganui and the surrounding district are reminded that they will be allowed to witness the shooting. The association officers extend a very, hearty welcome to them, and trust that many will take this opportunity of witnessing the shooting of some of New Zealand's best marksmen. Among the competitors will be the following V-liampions: —Riflemen' Henry, Hyde,. King, WinslaOe, Lieutenant Maretts, Private Frederick, and others. The following will be the routine of duties on the first day.— Executive officer, Colonel Jno. P. Watt V.T>. Morning .—Range officers, Lieu {-.-Colonel Hughes, V.D.. Captain McNaught Lieutenant Gaffaney. Afternoon. —Range officers, Lieut.-Colonel Hughes. Captain Morgan, Lieutenant Perrotb. Morning.—Butt officers. Captain Morgan and Lieutenant Perrevc. Afternoon. —Butt officers, Captain McNaught .and Lieutenant Gaffaney. Squad Commanders: —No. 1 Squad Lieut. Buller, 2 Lieut. Holland, 3 Clr.Sergt. Matheson, 4 Sergt. Dalziell, 5 Sergt.-Major Thurston, 6 Captain Batten, 7 Lieut. Marrett, 8 Lieut. Neilson, 9 Capt. Cunningham, 10 Sergt.Major Hyde, 11 Clr.-Sergt. Harrison, 12 Captain Welch. 13 Sergt, Rashleigh, 14 Sergt. James.

The annual meeting will be held in the Commercial Room, Chavannes' Hotel, at 8 p.m. on Monday, 27th inst. Luncheon and light refreshment can be obtained on the ground. Shooting will commence at 7 a.m. each day.

'Busses will rim for the convenience o? competitors from the Town Bridge, commencing at 6 a.m., and returning in the evening to suit competitors.
