HIS MAJESTY’S “THE GLORIOUS FOOL.” STARRING RICHARD DIX AND > HELENE CHADWICK. “The Glorious Fool* ’ programme . will show to-night only at His Majes : ty s Theatre on account of the vaude ville commencing on Thursday. Ro mance and comedy lurk in all sorts oi unexpected places. One of th< i charms of the screen writings of Mar} Roberts Rinehart, is that she findi romance and comedy that is usuall} concealed from other writers and builds a fresh, amusing and alwayj satisfying story out of it. Her latesi Maatßr picture, featuring Helene Chadwick and Richard Dix: "The Glorious Fool” is the best thing she has done for the screen. Its action takes place in a hospital where a reckless youth is taken in what is believed to bo a. dying condition and persuades the kind-hearted probationer into marrying him to cheat his relatives out of inheriting any of ihs money. Believing himself ‘at the point of death and wishing to leave his fortune where it would do some good, Billy Grant persuades the ten-der-hearted Jane Brown, probationer in the hospital to marry him. But he does not"keep faith with her; he recovers and Jane finds herself married to a stranger. What funny, romantic, and entirely human situations follow, you may loam by seeing this refreshing comedy-drama. The supports are many and varied and always entertaining. There is a Mermaid comedy entitled: "The Hula Honeymoon,” a riot of laughs, and on the programme is a remarkably beautiful scenic of Japan also the latest Pathe Gazette and Topical Budget. His Majesty’s Select Orchestra, under Mr. Oliver, will play a pleasing programme of music. HIS MAJESTY’S MUSGROVE CELEBRITY VAUDEVILLE. The last two Musgrove companies which visited Wanganui were accorded a remarkable reception by the public, and it is quite safe to say that the name of Musgrove at the head of any company is sufficient guarantee of the excellence, of the entertainment provided The company which commences at His Majesty’s tomorrow is said to worthily uphold the traditions of its predecessors. At the head of the bill is Renie Riano, direct from the “Music Box” revue in London; she has acquired an international reputation, and created a sensation in "Wellington. She is known as the girl with the £20,000 legs. Carr Lynn is another famous artist, and is said to be the world’s greatest animal mimic. He presents "Fun in a Farmyard” and "On the Tiles With Thomas.” Clare Solly is the wellknown Australian contralto; an artist with a beautiful voice of rare quality, and music lovers are promised a treat in this direction. The Royal Raratongans have captivated theatregoers wherever they have appeared, with their haunting South Sea Island melodies, and hula dances. Guilly and Jeanny, two French artists, will delight the onlookers with their graceful feats on the top of a miniature Eiffel Tower which is a blaze of coloured lights. There is something fascinating about balancing on the silver wire, Snd the Alton Sisters will show what practice and patience can accomplish in this direction. La Belle Onra will be seen in some remarkable feats as an equilibrist. Dallas Fraser, a very able ’cellist, will delight music-lovers with her performance on this ’charming instrument. The box plans are now open at Messrs H. I. Jones and Son’s.

Mr. J. Morton Murray, of the Now Zealand Alliance, is visiting Wanganui at the invitation of the W.C.T.U. District Convention, and will speak tomorrow night at 7.30 at St. Albans, Wanganui East, on the subject of Corporate Control.
