In order to raise funds to carry out a plan of extensive improvements to the Show Grounds, the general committee of the Manawatu A. and P. Association decided to hold a queen carnival in the spring. The scheme of improvements is expected to cost £lo,o'oo. It was stated at a meeting of the association yesterday morning that if it were carried out it would mean that the association would have the best and most up-to-date grounds in New Zealand.
