LONDON STRIKE

CONTRADICTORY REPORT. LONDON. June 10. The railway strike situation is officially reported to be ttill improving, although 39 stations are still closed. Trains ate operating on all lines. Fifteen hundred more of the uniformed staff have returned to work. The difficulty now is to increase the output at the power honsos so as to increase the number of trains running. Meanwhile the strike headquarters claim that the strike is extending. The Great Central Railway shopmen at Anerley and at Nottingham are now out, and shopmen and powerhouse men on the London Underground are solid. The effect will be felt very shortly because repairs to rolling stock are piling up.
