Charged with wilfully attempting to defeat the course of justice in the trial of John Atirau Asher, for alleged false pretences, by asking a Crown witness, AVilliam James Scott, to alter his evidence in a material particular to assist Asher, Eric Troutbeck Hutton (32), carrier, of Tokaanu, appeared before justices in the Hamilton Alagistrate’s Court to-day. Evidence was given by Scott that he was approached by accused, who asked him to modify his evidence at the trialAccused was committed for trial at the Supreme Court, bail being renewed-
