Co's s.s. Storm Bird, Captain Eeynolds, loft Wellington on February 3, at 3 pm, arrived off the Wanganui bar at i> am, but did not cross till 3 pm of the 4th, had strong westerly winds. Left Wangannui at 5 pm on the fith, crosssing tho bar at 7.30 pm, towing out the schooner Choice, and arrived in this Port ou Tuesday at 8.55 am. Experienced fine weather and calms throughout. The W.S.N. Co's s.s. Wanganoi, Captain Linklater, lef here ou Friday evening at !) o'clock, with the remainder of the 14th Regiment stationed hero; on getting outside she encountered a strong gale from tho nor'-west, which moderated however, the next day. Sho arrived at Wanganniat 8 p.m., aud landdo the troops at 4 pm. She left at 6.30 pm on Monday, and arrived hero on Tuesday morning at 6.30 p.m. Fino calm weather the passage down. The p.s. City of Duxedin, Capt Boyd, arrived on Tuesday afternoon from Havelock and Picton. She left tho 2)ort at 7 pm on Monday. Tho brigantino Esther, Captain Campbell, arrived hore on Tusday. Sho has been G days" on tho passage from Napior. collecting wool at different places on the coast. Tho P., N.Z. & A. B.M. Co's s.s. Lord Asiilev, Gaptaint Randall, left Auckland, on Feb 3rd, at 1 pm, arrived at Napier on the sth, at G a.m. Loft Napior on tho 7tb, a 12 noon, and arrived in this port on tho Bth, at 1 pm. The Lord Ashley was detained 24 honts in Napier, for the answer to the English mail brought by the Lady Bird. The N.Z.S.N. Co's s.s. Wellington,, Captain Francis, arrived iv harbor yesterday evening at 5 p.m., after a very boisterous passage. She left Lyttelton on the 7th at 12.15 pm, nud encountered strong uor'-oast wind, with a heavy head sea. The following morning at 3.30 a.m. when abreast of tho Kikora Peninsula, the wind changed to nor'-west, blowing a gale and causing the sea to rise very much, and about tho same time it was found she had thrown one of the blades off her propeller, thus leaving her but oue. Finding the vessel in her disabled state, could not make head way against the gale, the fore aud aft canvass was set, and tho vessel put on a wind. About noon yesterday she fetched Capo Palliser, tbo wind now moderated, and coming into smoothor water, crossed Pallist-r Bay, and stvamed shortly into harbor.
