No. 198.—Petition of Eewanui Apatibi and 2 Others. Petitioners state that they were omitted from the list, of owners of Pahiatua and other blocks, and pray that land may be given to them. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 17th September, 1896.

B ki ana nga kai-pitihana i mahue ratou i roto i nga rarangi ingoa o Pahiatua me etahi atu Poraka, a c inoi ana kia hoatu he whenua mo ratou. Kua whakahaua ahau kia ki penei, kaore kau a te Komiti kupu mo runga i tenei pitihana. 17 o Hepetema, 1896.

No. 233.—Petition of Hoani Pahau and 30 Others. Petitionebs pray for return of Wakawaka-o-te-Huruhi, Waiheke Island, Auckland, which they allege was wrongfully included in an adjoining block (Mokopukupuku) sold to the Crown. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 17th September, 1896. —

Nos. 248 and 249.—Petitions of Hoani te Eangikangaiho and Others. Petitioners pray for inquiry and redress in regard to Matawhero and Wharemata portions of the Hapuku Block, which they allege are wrongfully in the hands of Europeans. I am directed to report that the Committee recommend that these petitions be referred to the Government, and that the petitioners, as suggested by the Chief Surveyor at Napier, should be invited to go over the ground with a Government officer for the purpose of pointing out their claims. 17th September, 1896.

No. 264.—Petition of Te Keepa Matanohi and 8 Others. Petitioners state that land, known as Nuhaka Block, has been wrongfully taken by Government. They pray for inquiry and redress. I am directed to report that the Committee recommend that this petition be referred to the Government for consideration. 17th September, 1896.

They pray for inquiry and redress. I am directed to report that the Committee recommend that this petition be referred to the Government for consideration. 17th September, 1896.
