No. 543.—Petition of Mccc Meha and 2 Others. Petitionebs pray for rehearing in regard to Mangapoiki Block. 1 am directed to report that the Committee recommend that this petition be referred to the Government for consideration. Bth October, 1896.

Nos. 84, 102, 161, and 172. — Petitions of Sir W. L. Bullee; Eu Eeweti (Louis Davis); Meiha Keepa te Eangihiwinui ; and Kipa te Whatanui. Petitionebs protest against the finding of the Horowhenua Eoyal Commission, and pray that a further investigation may be held. No. 168. —Petition of Michael Mullooly. Petitioneb complains that he has not received justice at the hands of the Validation Court in regard to certain interests purchased by him in the Mangaheia No. 2 Block. He prays for inquiry and redress. I am directed to report that the Committee recommend that this petition be referred to the Government for consideration. 9th October, 1896.

No. 269.—Petition of Abapeta Meha and 3 Others. Petitionebs pray for the return of their land at Ohineuha, which they allege should have been reserved from the sale of the Porangahau Block. I am directed to report that the Committee recommend that this petition be referred to the Government for consideration.

No. 275.—Petition of Ellen Hoene and Another. Petitionebs state that they are the widows of Bobert Home and Thomas Craig, who paid considerable sums for interests in the Botokakahi and Te Awaroa No. 1 and 2 Blocks, that the said land has since been purchased by Government, and therefore they, the petitioners, cannot complete the purchase. They pray for compensation. I am directed to report that the Committee recommend that this petition be referred to the Government for consideration. 9th October, 1896.
