No. 510, 1903.—Petition of James McLellan, of Auckland. Petitioner prays for compensation in connection with Whangape surveys. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 6th October, 1903.

No. 272, 1903.—Petition of Petera Rahui and 77 Others. Petitioners allege that Te Rahui Block was not absolutely sold, and they pray for restitution. I am directed to report that, as this matter has already been dealt with by the Government, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 6th October, 1903.

Petitioners pray for legislation to enable completion of transactions in Native lands which have been rendered invalid through the passing of legislation relating thereto. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 6th October, 1903.

No. 398 and 399, 1903. — Petition of Hataraka Temepara and Others. Petitioners allege that the trustees in Arakihi Nos. 1 and 2 Blocks, Poverty Bay District, are misappropriating the rents derived from the same, and they pray that the land may be vested m all the rightful owners. I am directed to report that, as the petitioners have a legal remedy open to them, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 6th October, 1903.

No. 512, 1903.—Petition of Taituha Hape and 62 Others, of Kaiapoi. Petitioners pray for compensation for land taken for road in Kaiapoi Native Reserve. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition should be referred to the Government for inquiry. 7th October, 1903.
