Spotswood Domain. Sections Nos. 3714 and 3157, Block IV, Cheviot Survey District. Area, 9 acres 1 rood 10 perches. Work done during year: Levelling, grassing, and erecting 5J chains boundary-fences. Reserve No. 634, Otaio and Patiti Survey Districts. Area, 24 acres and 12 perches. Work done during year: Fences trimmed and repaired, picket fence erected in front of pavilion, path gravelled, grass cut, and seats provided. Improvements now on domain: One hundred and sixty chains fences, 5 chains open drains, 7 acres mixed plantation, 17 acres grass, asphalt cricket-pitch, and pavilion. Used for cricket, sports, tennis, picnics, horse-racing, &c. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Genera] maintenance. Templeton Domain. Reserves Nos. 2351 and 2418, Christchurch Survey District. Area, 229 acres. Work done during year: Grubbing and clearing gorse and broom. Improvements now on domain : Fences and plantations. Used for cricket, picnics, and sports. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Gorse-grubbing, fencing, and cleaning round trees, trimming trees and hedges. Teuuka Domain. Reserves Nos. 307, Town of Arowhenua, and 1.561, Opihi Survey District. Area, 183 acres. Work done during year : Erection of 5 chains of galvanised-iron fencing, 162J cords of firewood cut and a considerable portion sold, large grandstand erected at a cost of £600 in place of the old pavilion, and general maintenance. Improvements now on domain: Post-and-wire boundary-fences with gorse hedges, six iron wicket gates for foot traffic, four double gates for vehicles (one of wood and three of iron), caretaker's cottage, pavilion, tennis-shed, cloak-room and conveniences, two tennis-courts, asphalt cycling-track, and 25 acres plantation. Used for picnics, sports, and general recreation. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Maintenance. Timahu Domain. Part of Reserve No. 102, Suburbs of Timaru. Area, 8 acres 1 rood 18 perches. Leased to South Canterbury Caledonian Society. Work done during year: Grandstand erected. Improvements now on domain: Grandstand, iron fence on three sides, plantation, oval sports-ground, bicycle-track, caretaker's cottage, enclosures, &c. Used for sports and band contests. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Erection of grandstand. Tinwald Domain. Reserve No. 2378, Block XVI, Westerfield Survey District. Area, 230 acres. Work done during year : Building for use of athletic clubs and picnic parties erected with timber grown on the domain; 11 chains fences erected, and old fences repaired; English trees and shrubs planted; roadway to gates formed and metalled, and drives formed round cricketaround; and noxious weeds eradicated. Improvements now on domain: Gorse, wire, macrocarpa fences; pipe and open drains; grandstand and booth, offices, pavilion; and plantations of English and other trees. Used for sports, picnics, and races. Proposed operations for ensuing year : Tree-planting and erection of fences. Waiatj Domain. Section No. 1, Block XIII, Waiau Survey District. Area, 40 acres. Work done during year: About 10 acres cleared of noxious weeds, levelled, fenced, and formed into a sports and football ground, and two gates and dressing-room erected. Improvements now on domain: Fences, dressing-room, and sports-ground. Used for football, picnics, and sports. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Clearing noxious weeds, and tree-planting. Waihora Park Domain. Reserve No. 2585, Block XIV, Halswell Survey District. Area, 200 acres. Work done during year: Fencing and planting eastern side of domain, renewal of decayed trees, improving water-service, laying out and partly forming new tracks, and general maintenance. Improvements now on domain : Double fencing all round the area with belt of English and native trees from 1 to 2 chains wide, three artesian wells, windmill and water-supply laid on by pipes and tanks, flower-gardens, glass and shade houses, nursery, caretaker's cottage, ornamental gates, and 40 chains road-formation. Used for general recreation, sports, cricket, &c. ; many picnics are held in the domain by visitors from Christchurch and elsewhere. Proposed operations for ensuing year : Maintenance.
