Invercargill Customhouse. —Office removed to Arcade Building. Dunedin Customhouse. —Offices repaired and renovated. Public Works Office, Dunedin. —Additional shelving provided. Lands and Deeds Registry Office, Dunedin. —Electric call system installed. Health Department. Dunedin. —Store-room arranged on stair-landing. Boys' Home, Otekaike. —Repairs effected. Mobilisation Store, Dunedin. —Nothing has been done to the drainage, as Dunedin Drainage Board will not allow free connection. Offices are fitted up, and linoleum laid. Industrial School, Caversham. —Alterations and renovations have been made; four new baths added ; and linoleum laid on floors of chief rooms. " The Camp " Mental Hospital, Otago Peninsula. —Excavations for high iron fence have been made, but no ironwork arranged yet. Vinery has been painted. Maintenance has been carried out as necessary in Dunedin. MARINE. Kaipara River. — Removal of Rocks. —Work to be done on arrival of Priestman grab from England. Jetty, H.M.C.S. "Iris," Auckland, Harbour. —Has been built; gas and water laid on; crane fixed; contract for mooring-buoys is in hand. Huia Wharf, Manukau Harbour. —Is being erected. Silting-up of Ohinemuri and Thames Rivers. —Reported on. Maketu Harbour, Kaituna River Outlet. —Examined, and plan supplied. Motuihi Wharf, Quarantine Station, Auckland. —Is being constructed, and is nearly completed. Wade and Puhoi, Rivers. —Examined, and cost of improving them reported on. Clevedon, Wairoa South, Auckland. —Landing examined and reported on. Ponui Lighthouse. —Repairs, renovations, and new roof to residence made. Cape Brett Lighthouse. —Site selected, plans of residence buildings prepared, and timber being obtained. Plans of cast-iron tower in hand. Apparatus has been ordered from England. HelensviUe River Beacon. —This beacon was completed, and afterwards raised. Cuvier Island Lighthouse. —Landslips damaged one of the residences here, and threatened the other. Both have been removed to safer sites. Lighthouse, Tuahine Point, Gisborne. —Plans of site have been submitted. Apparatus has been ordered from England. Waitara River Encroachment, Taranaki. —A survey of encroachment of the river at upper end of Town of Waitara has been made, and plans submitted and reported on. Somes Island Wharf, Wellington. —A new wharf has been completed, and the old wharf removed. Portland Island Lighthouse. —A landing store was constructed, all prepared and put together in Wellington, and then the parts shipped to site for final erection. French Pass Beacon. —The superstructure of this beacon was re-erected complete in ooncrete. Motueka Harbour Survey. —A survey and plans for determining the area of tidal water available in the tidal basin here were made.
