In this connection I may state that out of the maintenance vote the Hoard is willing to pay poiiml-for- J>• ill in I subsidy on all moneys voluntarily raised, and expended strictly in accordance with the conditions of the maintenance vote grant; but under no ci rcumstaiices is the subsidy paid on funds voluntarily raised by Committees lor cleaning, fuel, or Committee expenses. The incidental allowances μ-ranteil to School Committees are intended to be used for the following purposes, viz. : — For keeping dean the schoolrooms, with all outbuildings, including scavengering when necessary. For providing fuel, and for having the schoolrooms kept properly warmed and the school chimneys swept. For making necessary repairs to the school buildings, furniture, and premises, as detailed below.
