No. 160 (1913). —Petition of Kimokimo Pepbne. Praying for a reinvestigation of title to Mangainutu No. 1 Block. I am directed to report that, as the matter is sub judice, the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 3rd September, 1913.

No. 162 (1913). —Petition of Ranieha Karena and 4 Others, of Mangati, Bell Block. Praying that their lands be removed from the jurisdiction of the Public Trustee and returned to them. I am directed to report that, as a question of policy is involved, the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 3rd September, 1913.

No. 278 (1913). —Petition of Te Heuheu te Akau and 92 Others. Praying that legislation be introduced to give effect to their desires re subdivision and survey of Native lands and advances to Maoris by the Government by way of mortgage on their lands. I am directed to report that, as a question of policy is involved, the Committee has nc recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 4th September, 1913.

No. 102 (1913). —Petition of Haoka Tareranui and 60 Others, of Paeroa, County of Ohineinuri. Praying for relief re damage to their land, which is caused by the silting-up of the Ohinemuri River in consequence of operations by the gold-extraction companies. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that the interests of the Native petitioners should be conserved as far as is possible, and that the petition should be referred to the Goldfields and Mines Committee. 4th September, 1913.
