• Special Report. The Native Affairs Committee has the honour to report that at the final meeting of the Committee, held this morning, the following resolution was passed unanimously : — " That the Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the ability, tact, and courtesy displaj'ed by the Chairman, Mr. J. A. Young, at the meetings of the Committee; that this resolution be entered on the minutes and reported to the House." 10th December, 1913.

Tenei te Koiniti mo nga mea Maori kei te whai honore kite ripoata atu i te tuunga whakamutunga o te Komiti, i tv i tenei ata, paaliitia ana tenei motini c whai ake nei, a kaore rawa hoki he reo whakahe :— " E hiahia ana te Komiti kia tuhituhia a ratou kupu mihi whakawhetai atu mo te kaha, te mohio, me te ngawari hoki o te Tiamana. Mr. J. A. Young, i nga huihuinga o tenei Komiti; me tenei motini hoki me tuhituhi ki runga ki nga meneti o te Koiniti ka ripoata atu ai kite Whare." 10 o Tihema, 1918.

Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Native Affairs Committee held its final mooting this morning. The number of members on the Committee is 14. During the session the Committee held 70 meetings, with an average attendance of 875. Including 36 brought forward from last session, the Committee had before it 181 petitions. Of these 139 were considered and reported upon, and the remaining i' 2 are held over until next session. Upon 94 the Committee had no recommendation to make, and upon 45 it reported favourably. The following Mills were referred to the Committee, were duly considered, and reported upon : Native I,and Laws Amendment; Hating Amendment; West Coast Settlement Reserves Amendment; Native Land Claims Adjustment. Five parliamentary papers were referred to the Committee, and were duly considered and reported upon. The total number of reports presented to the House was 139. 10th December, 1913.
