No. 297 (1913). —Petition of Whare Eruera Turei and Another. Praying for an opportunity to establish their alleged righl to inclusion in the list of owners of Tamaki Block. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 27th October, 1914.

No. 589 (1914). —Petition of Hikarahui Hemopo and 11 Others. Petitioners protest against proposed rate on their lands in favour of Wellington Industrial Development Company (Limited), and pray that the said company be prohibited from purchasing Native lands in the Taupo district. 1 am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred In the Government for immediate consideration. 27th October. 1914.

No. 588 (1914).—Petition of Paerata Hitirt and 41 Others. Praying that Te Tihoi and Pouakani Blocks be exempted from proposed rate in favour of Wellington Industrial Development Company (Limited), as owners of the said blocks have already made concessions to Taupo Totara Timber Company re construction of a railway. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for immediate consideration. 27th October. 191 I.

West Coast Settlement Reserves Amendment Bill. The Native Affairs Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered same, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed with amendment as shown on the copy of the Bill attached hereto. 27th October, 191 I.
