Nelson Waterworks Extension Bill. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Nelson Waterworks Extension Bill and recommends that, so far as it affects the rights of the Crown or public reserves, the Bill be allowed to proceed. Land Laws Amendment Bill. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Land Laws Amendment Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed without amendment. 23rd October, 1935.

No. 92.—Petition of Margaret Bedell, of Wellington. Praying for compensation or a compassionate allowance in respect of loss sustained by her late husband's estate through farming Crown land in Murchison County. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends that the petition be referred to the Government for consideration. 23rd October, 1935.

No. 60.—Petition of T. Y. Forman, of Kimbolton. Praying for a refund of moneys expended by petitioner in connection with a claim by the Commissioner of Crown Lands to possession of land at Kimbolton. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for inquiry and consideration. 23rd October, 1935.

No. 362.—Petition of W. R. Ayson and 16 Others, of Otautau, Settlers, and No. 363.— J. McLeay and 9 Others, of Edendale and Seaward Downs Districts. Praying (1) That a reduction be made in the interest charged on their Capital and Current Accounts; (2) that their instalment mortgages be written down; (3) that their lands be revalued; (4) that the system of orders and percentages on milk cheques be done away with. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered these petitions, and recommends that the petitions be referred to the Government for consideration. 23rd October, 1935.

No. 171. —Petition of T. Harris, of Putaruru. Praying for compensation for loss sustained through alleged forced sale of his property. 1 have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for consideration. 23rd October, 1935.

No. 191.—Petition of S. P. G. Williams, of Runciman. Praying for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the loss of his land. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered this petition, and has no recommendation to make. 23rd October, 1935.

No. 351, 1934-35.—Petition of T. Jackson and 8 Others, of Rotorua. Praying that the right of reasonable access for the public to all lakes and waterways in the Rotorua-Taupo Thermal and Lakes District be secured. I have the honour to report that, the honourable member presenting this petition being desirous of withdrawing it, the Committee recommends that the petition be allowed to be withdrawn. 23rd October, 1935.

Southland Land Drainage Bill. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Southland Land Drainage Bill, and recommends that, so far as it affects the rights and prerogatives of the Crown, the Bill he allowed to proceed, with the amendment shown on the copy of ,the Bill hereto annexed. 23rd October, 1935.
