REPORTS. No. 76/1937-38.—Petition of J. Dale and 103 Others. Praying that licensed premises be not established at Ngatea. I am directed to report that, as a question of policy is involved, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 11th August, 1938.

No. 11. —Petition of Mary Pilling and 57 Others. Praying for enactment of legislation enabling certain Court proceedings to be reopened. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 11th August, 1938.

No. 158/1937-38.—Petition of G. W. Smith and 9 Others. Praying for revision of the Licensing Act, 1908, and its amendments. I am directed to report that, as a question of policy is involved, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 11th August, 1938.

No. 12.—Petition of H. Trewby. Praying for the abandonment of the tourist traffic, and for the institution of measures as will lead to an improvement in the quality of the primary produce of New Zealand. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 11th August, 1938.

No. 141/1937-38.— Petition of T. R. E. Moss. Praying for a compassionate grant in respect of injuries allegedly sustained whilst travelling on the New Zealand railways. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration. The Committee further recommends that a auitable position should be found for the petitioner in some Government Department. 24th August, 1938.

No. 32. —Petition of Susan McAvinue. Praying for payment of the sum of £52 10s. allegedly due to her late husband for services rendered to the Public Works Department. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 24th August, 1938.

No. 9.—Petition of T. W. Nibld. Praying for a retiring-allowance or other relief in consideration of his services as a member of the Police Force. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 24th August, 1938.

No. 170/1937-38.—Petition of J. Redward. Praying for payment of balance of fees for the massage treatment of persons injured during the Hawke's Bay earthquake of 1931. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 24th August, 1938.

No. 95/1937-38.—Petition of W. E. Timmings. Praying for restoration of property of which he was allegedly wrongfully dispossessed, or for compensation. I am directed to report that as the petitioner is now deceased, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 24th August, 1938.
