No. 24. —Petition of Perene H. Tukariri and 104 Others, of Mangonui. Praying that the question of surplus lands and Tangonge Lake be reopened. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. The Committee recommends that a Commission of inquiry be set up to deal with all pending petitions relating to surplus lands in the North Auckland District. 14th September, 1939.

I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that, in so far as this petition refers to the Tutu Reserve, it should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration : the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to the remainder of the petition. 21st September, 1939.
