No. 40. —Petition of D. E. Bradney, of Auckland Praying for payment of a further sum of £2,500 to Messrs. J. H. Bradney and Sons, Ltd., in respect of the sale of the s.s. " Onewa," or, alternatively, that a Stipendiary Magistrate be appointed to inquire and report as to the value of the ship at date of sale in terms of the Shipping Requisitioning Emergency Regulations 1939. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration. 19th August, 1943.

No. 63.—Petition of L. M. Estoourt, of Hastings Praying for relief on account of alleged wrongful dismissal from the Public Service. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration; and in view of _ the petitioner's age and qualifications, efforts be made to obtain a position for him, provided petitioner gives an undertaking to carry out all lawful instructions issued to him by his superior officers. 19th August, 1943.

No. 69. —Petition of T. Hill, and Others, of North Devonport Praying for the restoration of a bus service at North Devonport. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration. 19th August, 1943.
