ORDERS OR REFERENCE Extracts from, the Journals of the House of Representatives Thursday, the 4th Day or March, 1943 Ordered, " That a Select Committee bo appointed, consisting, by leave, of seventeen members, to consider all petitions, reports, returns, and other documents relating to affairs especially affecting the Native race which may be referred to it, and from time to time to report thereon to this House : the Committee to consist of Mr. Broadfoot, the Right Hon. Mr. Coates, Mr. Cotterill, Mr. Cullen, Mr. Frost, Mr. Langstone, Mr. Lowry, Mr. Massey, Mr. Moncur, tlie Hon. Sir Apirana Ngata, the Hon. Mr. Paikea, Mr. Ratana, Mr. Sutherland, Mr. Thorn, Mr. Tirikatene, Mr. Williams, and the Mover."—(Hon. Mr. Mason.) Friday, the sth Day of March, 1043 Ordered, " That all petitions not finally dealt with during tlio session of 1941-42 be again referred to the same Committees as they were referred to during tho said session."—(Right Hon. Mr. Eraser.) Thursday, the 20tii Day of May, 1943 Ordered, " That Select Committees have leave to sit for tho remainder of the session on days on which the House does not meet."—(Right Hon. Mr. Eraser.) Tuesday, the 17th Day or August, 1943 Ordered, " That the Native Purposes Bill be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Mason.) Memoranda for the Chairman, Native Affairs Committee : — "Pursuant to section 23 of the Native Purposes Act, 1938, Paper No. 119 (Report and Recommendation on Petition No. 66 of 1938, of Wairama Te Whakaunua, concerning the location and extent of her interests at Ruatoki and Waiohau under consolidation) stands referred to the Native Affairs Committee." (17th August, 1943.) *' Pursuant to section 11 of the Native Purposes Act, 1940, Paper No. 120 (Report and Recommendation on Petition No. 27 of 1939, of Te Banna Hapo and others, concerning the ownership of the Rakaukaka Block) stands referred to the Native Affairs Committee." (17th August, 1943.) " Pursuant to section 18 of the Native Purposes Act, 1941, Paper No. 121 (Report and Recommendation upon Petition No. 71 of 1940, of Ema Hoera Ruihi, concerning tho estate of Hoera Mei Maihi, deceased) stands referred to the Native Affairs Committee." (17th August, 1943.) " Pursuant to section 18 of the Native Purposes Act, 1941, Paper No. 122 (Report and Recommendation on Petition No. 86 of 1940, of Ani Mataka and others, concerning the appointment of successors to the interests of Rangiikeike, deceased, in Hoani Block) stands referred to the Native Affairs Qommittee. (17th August, 1943.)
