Praying that the Orakei Maoris be secured in their ancestral home, that their papakainga reserve be vested in the Native Department as trustee for the tribes concerned, and that their village be brought up to present-day conditions. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. 6th August, 1943.
