No. 15/1942.—Petition of G. W. Arlidge, of Palmerston North, Fruit and Produce Merchant Praying for restoration of a fruit distributor's license and for compensation. I have the honour to report that the Industries and Commerce Committee has carefully considered this petition, and has no recommendation to make. 18th June, 1943.

No. 68/1941. —Petition of H. Thompson, of Invercargill, Fish-merchant Praying that he be granted a fish wholesale license. I have the honour to report that the Industries and Commerce Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 28th July, 1943.

No. 17/1942. —Petition of Hedda Dyson and Others (representing the Auckland Public Opinion Group), of Auckland Praying that the essential foods for health be distributed in sufficient quantities for the fullest consumption, and that, prices be strictly controlled and fixed as low as possible. I have the honour to report that the Industries arid Commerce Committee has heard evidence on, and has carefully considered, this petition, and has no recommendation to make. 28th July, 1943.

No. 78.—Petition of C. J. Taylor, of Bond Street, Wellington, Merchant Praying (a) that he may be enabled to become a member of the Wellington Fencing Materials Association; (b) that he be ensured an equitable allocation of baling-wire imported by the Ministry of Supply; and (c) that in the event of the Ministry of Supply ceasing to import baling-wire, he be granted licenses to import such baling-wire. I have the honour to report that the Industries and Commerce Committee has carefully considered this petition, and has no recommendation to make. 20th August, 1943. J. Hodgens, Chairman.
