REPORTS No. 1. —Petition of L. G. Kelly, of Avon Road, Clifton, South Invercargill Praying for compensation for loss in area of a section of land. I have the honour to report* that the Lands Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 7th August, 1944.

Lower Hott City Empowering and Vesting Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Lower Hutt City Empowering and Vesting Bill, and recommends, in so far as it affects the rights and prerogatives of the Crown, that the Bill be allowed to proceed without amendment. 12th September, 1944.

Otago Harbour Board Empowering Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Otago Harbour Board Empowering Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed without amendment. (Note. —The rights and prerogatives of the Crown will not be affected if the amendment to clause 6 recommended by the Local Bills Committee is agreed to by the House; and the Lands Committee endorses that recommendation.) 12th September, 1944.

North Shore Boroughs (Auckland) Water Conservation Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the North Shore. Boroughs (Auckland) Water Conservation Bill, and recommends, in so far as it affects the rights and prerogatives of the Crown, that the Bill be allowed to proceed without amendment. 12th September, 1944.

Auckland Harbour Board Empowering Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee lias carefully considered the Auckland Harbour Board Empowering Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed without amendment. (Note. —The rights and prerogatives of the Crown will not be affected if the amendment to clause 6 recommended by the Local Bills Committee is agreed to by the House. The Lands Committee endorses that recommendation.) 27th September, 1944.

Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Bill, and recommends.that the Bill, so far as it affects the rights and prerogatives of the Crown, and with the amendment shown on the copy of the Bill attached hereto, be allowed to proceed. 27th September, 1944.

Reserves and other Lands Disposal Bill I Save the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed without amendment. 23rd November, 1944.
