Local Legislation Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Local Legislation Bill, and recommends that, so far as it affects reserves or the rights and prerogatives of the Crown, it be allowed to proceed with amendment as shown on the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. 24th November, 1944.

Christ church Hospital Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Christchurch Hospital Amendment Bill and taken evidence thereon, and recommends that, so far as it affects the rights and prerogatives of the Crown, it be allowed to proceed, without amendment. 28th November, 1944.

No. 35.—Petition of C. Scott, of Te Aroha Praying for revocation of an order dispossessing him of portion of a grazing lease. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 28th November, 1944.

Parliamentary Paper No. 202 (Notice of Intention to issue an Order in Council CHANGING THE PURPOSE OF PORTIONS OF A RESERVE IN THE BOROUGH OP TIMARU, Canterbury Land District) I have the honour to report that, after hearing evidence, the Lands Committee recommends that the proposed change of purpose of portions of a reserve in the Borough of Timaru, as set out in parliamentary paper No. 202, be not approved. 7th December, 1944.

Petition of: the South Canterbury Council of Sport and Others, of Timaru Praying that the proposal to alienate a portion of Timaru Park be not proceeded with. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 7th December, 1944.

Land Laws Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Land Laws Amendment Bill, and -recommends that it be allowed to proceed without amendment. 13th December, 1944. B. P. M'eachen, Chairman.
