(a) Return of some officers from military service, additional Veterinarians from overseas, and additional Inspectors and Instructors to cope with expanding activities. (b) £250 provided on main estimates. There has been an unexpected outbreak of disease, and additional expenditure is necessary in general precautionary interests of the Dominion. (e) £750 provided on main estimates. Promotions, arising out of retirements of officers retained beyond retiring-age, have involved numerous transfers. (d) Return of some officers from military service, and additional Instructors. (e) Return of some officers from military service, additional officers for seed-testing station, and additional officers to cope with rural development and economic activities.
