AIR DEPARTMENT —continued

(а) Provision made for 1946-47 expenditure now come to charge. With the reintroduction of free warrants for leave, a substantial increase in expenditure under this item is anticipated. £35,000 provided on main estimates. (б) Provision for estimated charges by United Kingdom Government for courses attended by R.N.Z.A.F. officers. (c) R.N.A.Z.F. Regulations provide for grants of £5O per annum for the upkeep of each approved R.N.Z.A.F. band. (d) Underestimated. £5,100 provided on main estimates. (e) Staff shortage and finalization of pay records have necessitated extended employment of staff beyond normal working-hours. £3,000 provided on main estimates. (/) Additional provision required through balance of 1946-47 expenditure being greater than anticipated. £38,450 provided on main estimates. (g) Two vehicle accidents have involved loss of earnings to third parties, and expenditure on this item therefore is greater than anticipated. £5OO provided on main estimates.
