Hospital and Charitable Institutions Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Public Health Committee has carefully considered the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Amendment Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed without amendment. 31st July, 1947. No. 63/1946. —Petition of V. Hetherington and 149 Others, of the Waikato and Thames Valley Districts Praying that the science of naturopathy, ehiropractics, and osteopathy be recognized by the Government, and that steps be taken to control same by statute. I have the honour to report that the Public Health Committee is of the opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration, and recommends that a Committee of inquiry be set up to take evidence in regard to the giving of recognition to naturopathy, ehiropractics, and osteopathy, and the advisability of setting up a Board of Examiners to govern the practice of same in the Dominion. 12th September, 1947. No. 13. —Petition of W. Adams and 205 Others, of the Borough of Takapuna Praying for the removal of the North Shore refuse-destructor from its present site. The Committee recommends that the petition be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration. The Committee also recommends that the destructor be abandoned altogether and that the disposal of rubbish be by means of the Bradford tipping system, to be continued on the present site. No. 60.—Petition of the Corporations of the Boroughs op Takapuna, Devonport, » Birkenhead, and Northcote, the County op Waitemata, and other Organizations Praying for the establishment of a surgical and medical hospital with full ancillary services on the North Shore, Auckland. I have the honour to report that the Public Health Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for consideration 6th November, 1947.
