No. 15 —Petition of J. G. Leckie and Others Praying for all ratepayers and householders of the City of Timaru to be brought within the area of the Municipal Electricity Department for supply purposes. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition, and has no recommendation to make. It is the opinion of this Committee that the question of the jurisdiction of Power Boards and municipal authorities should be a matter for consideration and decision by the Local Government Commission. 25th August, 1949.

No. 16 —Petition of E. D. Esdaile and Others Praying that the Tauranga Borough Council supply electric power to the whole area included within its jurisdiction. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition, and has no recommendation to make.
