Waipukurau Service.

Despite wretc-lied weather conditions, tho Anzae Day services hekl at aipukurnu yesterday wero verv well attended indeed. At 10.30 a.m. tlie Cenotaph at Russell Park was dedicated with floral emblems. the scliool children being massed at the monument, whilst there was also a large attendance of returned soldiers, Territorials, Cadets, Boy Scouts and tlie general public. At the conclusion of the short cereinony at tlie monument a service was lield at the Municipal Theatre. The liuge building was filled with people representative of everv class of tlie eommunity, nnd settlers were present l'rom manv distant parts. The Mayor. iMr R. McLean, presided. and on the stage with him were the Bev. Canon F. Rice, representing the Anglican Cliurch. the Rev. A. C. McLean. representing tlie Presbvterian Cliurch, and Captain Tyler, representing tlie Salvation Army. Memhcrs of the Borough Council. together with representativei of the various local bodies. B.S.A., and kindried associations. were al-o on tho dais. A comhined choir assisted with the voeal part of tlie proceedings. The Waipukurau Town Blind rcndered appropriate music for the occasion. The prayer was given by the Rev. Canon Rice, whilst the lesson was read h.v Captain Tyler. Tho address was given hy the Bev. A. ('. McLean, the theine heing that on Anzae Day. which was a day oi reiiienihraiice, the thoughts of all should go to the great unfinished tusk oi those who had fallen. Tho revcrent manner in which the address was listened to throughout displayetl very clearly the deep spirit which uiiderlics the conimemorating of Anzae Day.
