HASTINGS HOM1NG CLUBL The Hastings Floming Club flew their first race l'or this season from Masterton on Saturday. The birds were liberated in Masterton by Mr Emerson at 10 a.m. and the winning bird covered the distance of 114 miles in 2hrs. 17mius. 22secs. Coinefc, the winner, has proved a veiy eonsistent racer: He has severn 1 raceS to his credit, one of his best performances being liis fliglit of 350 miles from Christchurch in 6hrs. 44mins. lOsecs. Tlie details of Saturday 's race are as follows : — A. Harrison's b.c. ceck (Comet), 1452.1 yards per minute. A. Harrisonis blue cock (Blue Stflr), 1439.7 y.p.m. F. Holmes b.c. cock, No. 234, 1418.3 y.p.m. F. L. Butcher's b.c. lieu No. 522, 1410.5 y.p.m. Other lofts represented were tliose of G-. Fox, J. Foot and Gallaglier. The birds will be hampered for Masterton next Thursday evening.
