A GOOD SAVE
BI.AZE AT HAVELOCK NORTH. At 2.30 tliis morning a sliarp alarm of fire rang out in Havelock, and the brigade was out in record time. The blaze was.in a liouse in Middle road owned by Mv J. D. Heenan and tenanted hv Mr W. H. Ladbrook. The firemen had, the flames under control in good time, and hy three o'clock the outbrenk was practically extinguished. The blaze was caused, apparently, by wires fusing, for tlie gutted portion of the house is obiefly from the ceiling and not from the floor and lower walls where the 'destruction would have been made had the fire commenced lielow. The appearance of the house tliis morning shows ivh'at a good save the brigade made. for little of the residen.ee wa= not scorched. Mr Ladbrook had his furniture insured for £350 in tlie Eagle, Star and British Dominions Compahy. and Mr Heenan had the house insured for £775 in the State Office.
