SALVATION ARMY
NEW HALL AT WATERLOO
A new hall, which will be used chiefly for Sunday School work by the Salvation Army, was opened at Waterloo on Saturday last by Commissioner Cunningham. This development is largely due to the deep interest taken by Bandmaster Limpus, of the Lower Hutt Corps, in the children of the Waterloo district. The new building, though small, will serve the purpose of a Sunday School class room for a while. At the opening ceremony hopes were expressed by several of the speakers that the Army work would so progress in this rapidly growing suburb that a larger building would soon be necessary. There is ample room for extension if needs be, as the Army's lot meaj sures 171 by 57. It has an excellent location in the .centre of the settlement. Officers who took part in the opening ceremony were Colonel Taylor (chief secretary), Lieut.-Colonel Gunn (field secretary), Brigadier Scotney (property secretary), and Ensign Smith (corps offieee of Lower Hutt, of which Waterloo is an nutpost). _^___^^_____
