A Gisborne Horse.
(Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, last night. In the Railway Handicap at the A. R- C. races on Saturday the sensation of the day was created through sixty tickets being rung on at once on Geologist,; evidently a Gisborne commission. This resulted at once in the crowd proceeding to witness Geologise being saddled up, and many were the amusing-remarks passed in regard to tiie Gisborne horse, some saying It would be better carrying a butcher’s baqket, or should be attached to a bus, or perhaps, “ It is not much to look at, but is a terror to go.” Geologist ran a most disappointing race, running in the tear of a field of thirteen,- .Though Geologist may have been successful in the .South, I feel confident the cattle here are too good for him. To-day Geologist ran a much better race in the Shorts Handicap, and finished fourth out of a big field.
