CO-OPERATIVE FLOUR MILLS.
A CHANCE FOR A LABOR COUNCIL By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. As tho outcome of the recent open-air meeting of the Auckland Trades and Labor Council, at which the establishment of co-operative flour mills was advocated, that body has, it is stated, since received an offer of a fully equipped Southern mill, at what is claimed to be a very low figure. Tho cost of the property is stated to bo £BO,OOO, whilst the price quoted to the Trades and Labor Council by an, Auckland firm, on behalf of the owners, is .£12,000. It is understood that the offer has been referred to the Trades and Labor Council at Dunedin. In reference to tbe recent importation of American flour to Auckland, it is stated by importers that another shipment will arrive by tho Sonoma, which is due about the 22nd of this month, but this is likely to be the last shipment, owing to the American market having advanced so much during the last two months. Later shipments are in execution oi orders booked before tho advance in the American and London markets.
